Fitch Pond Floodplain
Fitch Pond is a conservation restriction of 30 acres of mainly wetlands, donated by Gary Griffin in 2005. These are privately held lands not open to the general public without landowner permission. The Fitch Pond Floodplain consists of additional abutting 30 acres of woodland and red maple swamp held in fee also donated by Gary Griffin in 2005. This acreage is open to the public, but is best visited during the winter when the swamp is safely frozen.
